Annotation | In this paper we prove the existence of the energy function, that is, a smooth Lyapunov function, whose the set of critical points is the same as the nonwandering set of the system, for structurally stable orientation preserving diffeomorphisms of surfaces with nontrivial one-dimensional basic sets. |
